About us Opportunities Studio and Co-operative Membership at Cubitt Studio and Co-operative Membership at Cubitt We are looking for a practising artist to become a Cubitt co-operative member. Studio Details Studio: 26 Available From: 1st December 2023 Size: 220 sq ft Current monthly rent: £328.31 pcm (rent will increase by 10% on 01/01/2024 to £361.14) Application deadline: Thursday 16th November (1:00 PM) Cubitt is an artist-led co-operative built on a belief in the value of art and artists in society. The co-operative is made up of 30 practising artists working in different media and at various stages in their careers. All studio members take on a co-operative job such as building maintenance or fundraising and join a co-operative committee such as Public Programmes or Seeds (a committee for Black and POC co-operative members and staff). This ensures that studios remain affordable and the organisation is artist-led. The studios are ground floor and have 24/7 access, wifi, central heating and a project space. Rent is inclusive of electricity, water, building insurance and service charges. Cubitt is located near Angel tube station. All studios are at ground level, and have step-free access. Cubitt Studios are open to all practising artists and we particularly encourage applications from Black artists and artists of colour. Cubitt co-operative membership applications are considered according to: Applicants’ demonstrable interest in and commitment to Cubitt’s co-operative values and model. This includes applicants’ commitment to be present in the studios and carry out their co-operative job on a regular basis. Applicants’ skills and/or willingness to learn skills relevant to the co-operative running of Cubitt. How might co-operative membership support and benefit the applicant. Proactively redressing the under representation of Black artists and artists of colour within Cubitt’s co-operative membership. As an artist-led co-operative organisation it is important that our membership reflect the diversity of the borough and city around us.
