Summer Ball 2018: Welcome to the Future!

Join us for this year’s edition of Cubitt’s annual Summer Ball: Welcome to the Future on Wednesday 27th June 2pm to 5pm at Islington Assembly Hall. The line-up includes a dance showcase with Counterpoint Dance, Funky Disco Dancers and Dances from the Musicals, film, sound and moving image work made with artists in two care settings, performance work made by our regular groups Saturday Socials and Positive Collective, live life drawing, and a dance free-for-all at the end of the afternoon. You will be hosted by compere Timberlina and DJ Auntie Maureen with lashings of tea and cake!

This event is FREE to all islington residents over 55 years old and tickets can be picked up from Claremont Project, St Luke’s Community Centre, Peel Centre or Drovers Centre.

We were joined by over 180 local residents at Islington’s Assembly Hall for a  celebration of the creativity of older people in the borough, and had a jolly good time!

With the theme ‘Welcome to the Future’ there was a wide range of making, playing, drawing, dancing, drinking, eating and watching activities in the line-up:
