Summer Art Hang Out: Play with Print ✂️📄🎨
with Cubitt Artists

Get creative, learn new skills and make a zine together!

Spend five days with artists Samuel Castro and Anahí Saravia Herrera exploring activities including drawing, collage, printmaking and photography, and be inspired by a trip to a gallery. Have the chance to make posters, photo collages, comics, illustrations, weird experiments, and anything in between.

We’ll gather our material into a zine printed on a risograph. What’s a risograph? It’s a big printer used by artists, activists and community groups to make thousands of bright posters in minutes. Think neon inks, layered colours, endless possibilities. What would YOU like to make?

The hang out is a chance for young people aged 13-19, who live or go to school in Islington to develop their creativity, try something new and make friends in a relaxed space.

Materials, lunch and snacks provided. You’ll get to take home copies of the zine, cool posters and any work you make.

Cubitt it taking part in Summerversity, Islington's free summer holiday programme for young people.

The banner image was taken at our last hangout in 2024 during a visit to the Barbican for an exhibition about play, below are some more photos from summer 2024!
