The launch of Cubitt’s new print portfolio Curators’ Choice takes place on Thursday 4th November 12-9pm and Friday 5th November 11am-4pm at The Rochelle School, Arnold Circus, London E2 7ES

A celebratory reception with music courtesy of Adam Chodzko, Dexter Dalwood and Babak Ghazi takes place on Thursday 4th November 6-9pm (no invitation required).

Cubitt Gallery and Studios are pleased to announce the launch of Curators’ Choice, a portfolio of prints celebrating 20 years of innovative exhibitions at its central London venue.

 

Cubitt has launched the careers of some of the most internationally recognised artists and curators in the contemporary art world. For this portfolio, previous curators of the gallery programme have been invited to select an artist they showed to produce a new limited edition print.

Curators’ Choice is a unique opportunity to purchase a set of 10 prints by leading contemporary artists, published in an edition of 60 and presented in a solander box.

Focusing on the role of artistic production, ambitious print methods used include etching, woodcut, lithography, silkscreen and polymer gravure.

Following the success of the Cubitt Print Box (2000), this is an exceptional opportunity to purchase an exciting and affordable collection of works by leading contemporary artists.

Sales of Curators’ Choice will enable Cubitt to continue its ambitious aim to provide affordable studio spaces for artists in central London alongside a leading non-profit contemporary art gallery and a pioneering education programme.

Established in 1991, Cubitt has played an important role as a site for exhibiting progressive international art projects. In 2000, following the provision of Arts Council core funding, the gallery initiated its unique 18-month curatorial bursary. From the very beginning it was Cubitt’s ethos to organise a gallery programme that took risks and presented artistic positions outside the mainstream. Having realised over 100 exhibitions and events and supported numerous curators and artists, this philosophy continues to the present day.
