Thursday 12 October

7.30 – 8.30pm

This screening brings together three films that feature movements both everyday and unexpected, into proximity with Cubitt’s current exhibition, Two Films About Love. These films, one by Alexandros Pissourios and two by Margaret Salmon, span scenes of domesticity, intimacy and animation and unfold in spaces of both rest and exercise.

Event free but booking essential, via Eventbrite here.

MARGARET SALMON (b. 1975, New York) lives and works in Glasgow. Concerned with a shifting constellation of relations, such as those between camera and subject, human and animal, or autobiography and ethnography, Margaret Salmon’s films often examine the gendered, emotive dynamics of social interactions and representational forms.

ALEXANDROS PISSOURIOS is an artist filmmaker based between the UK and Cyprus. Currently, he is interested in biography and explores themes of intimacy, time, biological and social kinship as well as a relationship with the landscape. Taking off from close observation and attentiveness his filmmaking carries an affinity to experimental traditions.
