Creative collaboration in action, with Evan Bond and Lydia CS

Evan Bond and Lydia CS will lead you through creative collaborative journeys that draw on everyone’s strengths and nurture imagination. They will introduce different elements of collaboration, including generating ideas, making and displaying, and incorporate movement, mark making and moving image.

Evan and Lydia will share learning and inspiration from their experience of working as artists on Camden Arts Centres’ programme for special schools and learning disabled young people. They will invite you to reflect on the role that creative collaboration can play in your setting to develop relationships and raise aspirations.

This session is open to Islington educators, with a focus on those who work with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Evan Bond’s work is based on sociological and political events that are happening in the world today. In his drawings, Evan builds up detailed, colourful images to depict different narratives that he finds interesting. Evan uses stop motion animation, combining sound and image to explore his own stories and narratives.

Evan is supported by Action Space, London’s leading development agency for learning disabled artists. Between 2020 and 2021, he was co-leader on a series of workshops for Camden Art Centre’s Special Education Needs School Programme.

Lydia CS has worked for three years on Camden Arts Centres’ programme with Special Educational Needs Schools, which supported learning disabled young people. With Besty Dadd, Lydia is part of Kaleidoworks, an artist duo who work in community settings including schools, galleries and public realm using the mediums of drawing, film, animation and sound in playful and accessible ways.
