Ever wondered how art exhibitions get put together, why and by whom? Would your business like to display or commission artwork?  Are you an artist who is thinking about organising their own exhibition? Or is your community centre or voluntary group interested in working with an artist?

A practical and straightforward introduction to curating.

This talk looked at the history of curating as a profession and introduce various approaches to curating contemporary art, commissioning new work and working with artists, as well as what is practically involved in organising exhibitions. It will be led by Fiona Parry, the current holder of Cubitt Gallery’s ‘Curatorial Bursary’.  Fiona previously worked at Nottingham Contemporary and the Royal Society of the Arts.

This event is suitable for anyone else wanting to find out more about more curating: no prior experience or knowledge required.
