Make friends, develop your art practice and have fun at Cubitt’s Institute of Anything.

Spend eight days developing work and learning skills alongside artist Dunya Kalantery and Cubitt’s Education team. Together, you’ll experiment with sound and music, develop audio stories, write poetry and spoken word, and make a collective mixtape. This will culminate in a live broadcast on Cubitt Community Radio on the last day of the project.

We’ll experience an art event together, share our skills, and think about our dream creative collaboration. You'll work towards an Arts Award Bronze, a nationally recognised qualification in the arts.

This project will be hosted by Lift Youth Hub, round the corner from Cubitt, and there will be some offsite visits, including to Cubitt.

Institute of Anything is Cubitt's programme for 13-19 year olds. Young people work alongside contemporary artists, develop skills and make friends. It’s called Institute of Anything because anything is possible.

Project dates and times:
10.30am - 4pm, 26, 27, 28, 29 July
10.30am - 4pm, 2, 3, 4, 5 August

About Dunya
Dunya Kalantery (born 1986) is an Iranian/Croatian artist, writer and educator born and based in London. Her work spans film, sound, radio, artist publications, and sculptural objects, using storytelling, materials and environments to explore displacement; plasticity; play; trauma and healing. She often works collaboratively with young people and children to create works of fact-and-fiction; utopian/dystopian alternatives that transform our relationship to our lived environment and create imagined alternatives which we can all occupy.

About the Arts Award
The Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification in the arts, accredited by Trinity College. For Arts Award Bronze, you'll:
- make art
- share a creative skill
- tell us about your dream creative collaboration
- attend and review an art event
We'll support you to create a portfolio to document and share all of this. There may be a small amount of work to do independently.

Institute of Anything Summer School is supported by Islington SummerVersity
